In this blog I will cover my top 25 favourite goals scored on FIFA16 (in some form of descending order towards the best) with a brief description of each and a link to the YouTube video for it. To watch each goal just click GOAL VIDEO under each description.

Goal Number: 25

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Neymar Team Played As: Roma Opposition: PSV Eindhoven Competition: Champions League, Group Stage

Description: The score was still 0-0 early in the second half of this match with Roma playing from left to right. A PSV attack broke down in the Roma half as PSV's Chinese forward Yu Dabao was tackled by Matthias Ginter and the ball broke to Neymar from the sliding tackle. The Brazilian forward took possession in his own half and after dodging past Santiago Arias he broke into the PSV half. As the right back Arias was clearly pushed forward and Neymar exploited the space on his left wing with a pacey run. Centre back Menno Koch came wide to intercept the run but the Brazilian cut inside him and continued his run between the Dutch defender and Mexican midfielder Andres Guardado who was dropping back and tracking the run. Nobody could get close enough to Neymar before he reached the box and although Koch did then get a slight touch on the ball it only knocked it back to the Roma player. He then curled the ball round keeper Jeroen Zoet into the net at the far post to give Roma the lead after 53 minutes from around 12 yards out.

I enjoyed this one as it showed all Neymar's best attributes; pace, dribbling and a good finish.

Scoring Player: Nathaniel Chalobah Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Walsall Competition: League One

Description: The action starts from the Walsall kick off as Wimbledon (playing left to right) have just scored a 54th minute equaliser through Eziquiel Ponce on loan from Roma. As the Saddlers move the ball around Chalobah closes down midfielder Adam Chambers and nicks the ball from him. As he tries to get into the box with the ball though he is tackled by Isiah Osbourne and the Jason Demetriou is able to clear from the Walsall defence. Walsall's right midfielder Anthony Forde then passes the ball back into the middle of the park for Chambers but after a poor first touch he is again robbed by a determined Chalobah. This time the former Chelsea midfielder makes no mistake and shoots from 20 yards out with a powerful effort that keeper Neil Etheridge cannot get near for a 2-1 lead.

I've been a fan of Chalobah for a few years now since I saw him go on loan to Watford in the 2012/13 season. As he's been on loan also at Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading and Napoli I saw him as an ideal loan signing for my Wimbledon team. This goal may have been outside the Top 25 for the long shot alone (as there are a few in the list) but I enjoyed the fact that he nicked the ball from the same player twice and made him pay the second time.

Goal Number: 23

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Ryan Kent Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Bury Competition: Johnstone's Paint Trophy

Description: Wimbledon are leading the match 1-0 and have a 78th minute corner playing from right to left. Ecuadorian midfielder Pedro Quinonez is taking the set piece and Kent comes over to receive a short corner pass. The winger on loan from Liverpool has two pieces of skill and nearly has an assist before scoring himself. First he goes on a run to goal taking him past K O'Brien, George Miller and Marcus Poscha including a lovely 360 degree turn. He then cuts the ball back to Brendan Galloway, the left back on loan from Everton, on the edge of the six yard box whose shot beats Romanian keeper Silviu Lung Jr and thunders back off the bar. Kent is first to the rebound and scores with an acrobatic side volley to make it 2-0.

I enjoyed this goal for both the turn during the dibble to goal and the side bicycle kick to score. The Liverpool winger is on loan at Barnsley this season and he seems to be a good Anfield prospect for the future.

Goal Number: 22

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Carlos Tevez Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Bologna Competition: Serie A

Description: This league encounter is still goalless with just under 20 minutes to go and Roma playing from left to right in search of the win. The play breaks down the left wing with full back Jetro Willems on the overlap who gets to the line and crosses back into the box. Paul Pogba's first time shot is blocked by Archimede Morleo but the Italian full back tries to carry the ball wide to safety and is tackled by Quincy Promes. The loose ball goes back towards the box and this is where the confusion begins for Bologna. Brazilian keeper Alisson comes out to get the ball but ends up in a race for the ball with his own centre back Rodrigo Caio. Clearly neither communicates to the other as the keeper strikes a clearance against the Brazilian centre back and the loose ball comes back out to Promes on the right wing. He spots Tevez unmarked near the open goal and plays a first time cross to him as P Di Cecco closes in on the little Argentine. The striker still has a lot of work to do and plays and overhead kick into the goal before he can be tackled with great agility to give Roma a 1-0 lead on 75 minutes.

Tevez's agility with the finish is one of the reasons I like this goal but also the speed of thought for the cross with the loose ball. The whole process was one of those where you play on instinct as there is nothing you can plan. Plus it's always amusing when the CPU defences make mistakes.

Goal Number: 21

Game Mode: Ultimate Team

Scoring Player: Wayne Rooney Team Played As: ChelSi Opposition: GRA Competition: Online

Description: My team is playing left to right in the Chelsea blue kit and leading 2-1 early in the second half. Pablo Zabaleta and Kurt Zouma exchange passes from a short free kick and the Argentine winger crosses to the edge of the box. Vincent Kompany flicks the ball on to Wayne Rooney before Andres Iniesta can tackle him and the England captain takes a touch and then shoots on the half volley. He is at least 25 yards out and the shot arcs into the top right corner beyond the reach of Cesc Fabregas who appears to be in the goal for some reason.

It's one thing scoring a long range goal in career mode when there's less pressure but there's something extra special you feel when these go in online. GOAL VIDEO

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Neymar Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Copenhagen Competition: Champions League

Description: The Champions League group match in Denmark is 0-0 just after the half hour mark with Roma playing right to left. The clip starts with David Alaba winning the ball deep in the left back spot and becomes a fantastic, flowing team counter attack. The Austrian full back clears inside to Matthias Ginter who gives the ball to Neymar on the edge of his own box. The Brazilan starts and ends this move with his usual finesse. First Neymar carries the ball out of defence and goes on a run past Christoffer Remmer, Youssef Toutouh and Thomas Delaney, getting into the Copenhagen half and playing the ball forward to Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker plays the ball across the pitch to Paulo Dybala while Neymar continues his run. Dybala plays a first time pass into the path of Neymar who side-foots the ball past Jakob Busk in the Copenhagen net with a first time shot.

For me the goal has a bit of everything but maybe lacks the fancy flicks and tricks to make it a great. The initial run by Neymar though and the the slick passing at the end do enough to ensure the goal's place on this list.

Goal Number: 19

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Sheyi Ojo Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Mansfield Town Competition: League Two

Description: Wimbledon playing from right to left with Sheyi Ojo taking a free kick on 63 minutes while leading 1-0. The ball is about 30 yards from goal and the on-loan Liverpool winger puts the left foot shot perfectly into the top left corner of the goal. Scott Shearer in the Mansfield goal is nowhere near getting a hand on it and the lead is doubled to 2-0.

Overall it's not a 'stunning' goal with an awesome dribble of amazing long shot but it was such a rarity that I got a free kick on target let alone scored one on FIFA16 that I really enjoyed this one. GOAL VIDEO

Goal Number: 18

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Christian Kabasele Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Crystal Palace Competition: Premier League

Description: With the Wimbledon name back in the Premier League they're at Selhurst Park, a ground the old Wimbledon used to share with today's opposition Crystal Palace once Plough Lane closed. Of course this is not the same Wimbledon as they are MK Dons now. With Wimbledon playing from left to right they have a corner with the match goalless and less than three minutes on the clock. Step forward centre back Christian Kabasele (now in the Premier League with Watford I notice) with a moment of magic. Manuel Pucciarelli took the ball from the corner and dribbled at goal to shoot but his effort was blocked by Martin Kelly who then headed the ball out of the box. Nolan Roux retrieves the ball and spots Kabasele unmarked 30 yards out. The Belgian centre back takes the ball to the edge of the D and fires a shot into the top right corner before Alex McCarthy can even react.

Kabasele was a rock at the back in my final season of this career mode and this is one of two goals he scored.

Goal Number: 17

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Allan Saint-Maximin Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Bournemouth Competition: Championship

Description: It's midway through the first half of a home match against the Cherries in the Championship and Wimbledon are playing left to right with the score 0-0. Allan Saint-Maximin tackles Bournemouth left back Tyrone Mings in the Wimbledon half and the takes him on down the right wing. Still in his own half he heads infield past Joshua King and Eugene O'Kane then around Matt Butcher as he gets into the away half. Sheer pace takes him away from Andy Surman and then the French striker is on the edge of the penalty area being forced wide to the left by Gonzalo Rodriguez (a purchase from Fiorentina). Once in the box he turns inside the Argentine defender and before Tommy Elphick can close him down he shoots past Adam Federici into the top right corner of the net for 1-0.

I'm not usually the sort of FIFA player to go on elaborate runs, instead preferring to pass my way to goal and look for the perfect through ball. You see some players online whose only objective is to dribble the ball to goal rather than move it through the team and to be fair it's each to their own but that's not my style. On this occasion though it just opened up and kept presenting itself more and more so I couldn't resist.

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Luan Team Played As: Brazil Opposition: Argentina Competition: World Cup Qualifying Group

Description: It's a crucial World Cup Qualifying game between Brazil and Argentina and we've just conceded an early eighth minute goal scored by Carlos Tevez. Step forward Brazilian winger Luan to restore the balance. From the kick off he runs past four players towards the left corner of the box and I can't even identify the players as the goal is so fast that the game is still showing the previous goal graphics. By the team he fired at goal from nearly 30 yards out Marcos Rojo was the nearest player to him and the ball sails past Geronimo Rulli into the far corner.

A perfect immediate equaliser with a great left foot strike.

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Michael Heylen Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Middlesbrough Competition: League Cup

Description: The score is 1-1 in the 40th minute of this League Cup tie as League Two Wimbledon take on Championship Middlesbrough and it's the Dons that have a corner. It's taken short to Julian Green, the American winger on loan from Bayern Munich, who lays the ball back to Ruben Loftus-Cheek outside the box. The Chelsea loanee plays the ball first time inside to where centre back Michael Heylen is lurking. Heylen is the third and final loan player (from Anderlecht) in this move as he strikes the ball from 25 yards beautifully into the top left corner of the net where Boro's Ukrainian keeper Anton Kanibolotskyi cannot do anything about it.

I love corner goals like this more than crossing for a header and to have a centre back score one is special because they don't get many. This was Heylen's only goal in 77 games on loan over two seasons.

Goal Number: 14

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Timo Werner Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Inter Milan Competition: Coppa Italia

Description: On the stroke of half time in this cup match Roma are leading Inter 2-1 and playing from left to right they have a free kick on the right hand side of Inter's penalty box. Zlatan Ibrahimovic chips the ball into the area and Timo Werner pulls away from his marker to meet the ball with a bicycle kick. The young German winger ends up striking the ball into the ground but it bounces up and past Juan Pablo Carrizo in the Inter goal giving Roma a 3-1 lead.

I would have rated the goal higher if it was more attractive but the ball striking the ground rather than flying straight in dulled it a little for me.

Goal Number: 13

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Allan Saint-Maximin Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Sheffield United Competition: League

Description: The 20th minute of this Championship clash with Sheffield United brought a 'blink and you miss it' piece of brilliance from Allan Saint-Maximin. Wimbledon are playing from left to right and Angelino and Sheyi Ojo work the ball to Dino Ndlovu. Now the way the South African striker dribbles through to shoot could have put the goal on this list anyway if he had scored, turning John Brayford and passing Stefan Scougall and T Kennedy before shooting. The shot is saved by George Long though and falls to the feet of Saint-Maximin who falls down between the ball and the goal with Saint-Maximin right with him. The French striker sees that he can't strike at goal with Harris in the way so drags the ball back with his right foot and spins 360 degrees to fire the ball into the net once the space has been created.

The view of this isn't great in the live view and is best seen from 0:29 in the video. I honestly can't remember how much of this was my finger & thumb work and how much was the CPU taking over but I know it looks great and worthy of an entry on the list.

Goal Number: 12

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Efe Ambrose Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Sunderland Competition: Premier League

Description: Wimbledon are playing Sunderland in the Premier League and are already 2-0 up after 31 minutes when they win a corner. The set piece is taken short to Saint-Maximin who plays the ball back to William Vainqueur (on loan from Roma) on the edge of the box but he's being marked by Wahbi Khazri. The French midfielder plays the ball on first time to Efe Ambrose lurking outside the area who takes a touch and shoots to the top left corner past Jordan Pickford from outside the box. It was the Nigerian's first goal since signing from Celtic on a free transfer over a year ago and he even celebrates with a backflip.

This one is very similar to #15 on the list with a long range shot from a centre back but it looks smoother and it's against better opposition.

Goal Number: 11

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Paul Pogba Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Borussia Dortmund Competition: Pre-Season Friendly Tournament

Description: It's the early minutes of a pre-season friendly between Roma and Borussia Dortmund and Roma are playing left to right. Cristiano Ronaldo goes on a run on the left past Moritz Leitner and Lukasz Piszczek before shooting from long range. Swiss keeper Roman Burki saves the shot and Leandro Castan (sold by me from Roma) clears to Jannik Bandowski. After a poor first touch Domenico Berardi is able to steal the ball and lays it back to Paul Pogba. From about 30 yards out the French midfielder takes a touch and rifles the ball past Burki into the top right corner.

This was Pogba's last goal for me as I used him in a deal to get Neymar just days later. It's the first of two back to back entries on this list, both with long range finishes.

Goal Number: 10

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Paul Pogba Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Fiorentina Competition: Serie A

Description: Roma are already leading Fiorentina 1-0 in this league clash and playing right to left in the 38th minute. Jerome Boateng retrieves the ball in defence and plays it to right back Alessandro Florenzi who charges upfield. After passing three Fiorentina players he passes to Carlos Tevez on the edge of the box. Knowing he is marked by Facundo Roncaglia he passes the ball back first time to Paul Pogba. The midfielder takes time to set himself up and strokes the ball past Andrea Consigli in the Fiorentina net, straight into the top right corner.

Although similar to #11 I prefer this one as it has a bit of angle to it but they are so alike I had to list them together.

Goal Number: 9

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Gervinho Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Fiorentina Competition: Serie A

Description: The score is 1-1 in the first half of this league match and Roma have a corner against Fiorentina. The corner is taken by Bojan and floated in to Kevin Strootman who apparently tries to knock the ball back to Miguel Veloso rather than towards goal. It's headed clear by Matias Fernandez though but only as far as Gervinho. The Ivorian takes one touch and fires a looping shot over Morgan De Sanctis into the net to restore Roma's lead at 1-0.

Another goal against Fiorentina but from a different season to the Pogba one. This was my first season whereas #10 was from the fourth. This was actually my fifth FIFA16 goal uploaded although an earlier one is still to come in this list.

Goal Number: 8

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Cristiano Ronaldo Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Copenhagen Competition: Champions League

Description: Roma are already leading at home to Copenhagen in this Champions League group game and have a corner in the 23rd minute. After two failed attempts on goal by Dried Mertens and Robert Lewandowski the ball is cleared out to the right wing where Cristiano Ronaldo collects the ball. From there he takes on the entire Copenhagen defence on his way to goal. First he takes on Benjamin Verbic then cuts inside between Mathias Jorgensen and Youssef Toutouh. He teases Federico Santander with the ball only to whip it away again and continue his run parallel to goal past Ludwig Augustinsson. Before Kris Stadsgaard can close down the Portugese star he manages to get his shot away and beats Jakob Busk in the Copenhagen net. It's goals like this that make playing with someone like Ronaldo such a pleasure because it's never too easy but with the right situation and a bit more focus your can pull off something special. Scoring Player: Shaun MacDonald Team Played As: Wales Opposition: Egypt Competition: World Cup Group Stage

Description: Just over ten minutes into the second half of this World Cup Finals Group Stage game between Wales and Egypt with the former leading 1-0 already playing left to right in yellow. Sam Vokes tries to play a ball through for Tom Roberts to chase on the left but Mo Salah is there to tidy things up for Egypt and play the ball back to Ahmed El-Shenawy in goal. The keeper's attempted clearance is very poor though as a low ball goes straight out to Bournemouth's Shaun MacDonald. The Welsh midfielder shoots from over 30 yards out and the shot loops over the keeper into the net to double the lead.

I love a good long range shot and to get one like this in the World Cup with Wales was an added bonus. MacDonald's ratings on FIFA16 were awesome. GOAL VIDEO

Goal Number: 6

Game Mode: Ultimate Team

Scoring Player: James Milner Team Played As: ChelSi Opposition: Team of the Week Competition: Offline

Description: My Ultimate Team side “ChelSi” are playing an offline game against a Team of the Week and attacking right to left in white shirts. We get a throw in on 72 minutes on the left wing and Heung-min Son throws the ball back to Antoine Griesmann who spots James Milner open and in space inside. He gives him the ball and the Liverpool midfielder shoots from what looks to be 35-40 yards out, going straight for the top left corner and beating Keylor Navas. The keeper clearly though the ball would go the other way and was too far out of position to recover. A rare Ultimate Team contribution but there should be more of these is FIFA17 from me. One of those 'sweet spot' goals.

Goal Number: 5

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Marcelo Team Played As: Brazil Opposition: Bolivia Competition: World Cup Qualifying Group

Description: With just over a quarter of an hour to go Brazil are beating Bolivia 3-0 in this qualifying match and playing left to right. It's another goal that stems from a seemingly innocent throw in. Neymar throws to Marcello and the Real Madrid left back takes a long range shot before Ricardo Pedriel can close him down. The ball sails into the top left corner and even keeper Carlos Lampe is so surprised he doesn't even move for it. It's difficult to judge the distance due to the angle but I'd say it's at least 30 yards out.

This is the earliest goal on the list and was only the third FIFA16 goal I uploaded. I realised after this goal that with the right player in the right situation you could get some great long range shots on FIFA16.

Goal Number: 4

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Luke Shaw Team Played As: England Opposition: Romania Competition: European Championship Group Stage

Description: England lead Romania 1-0 on the stroke of half time and have a corner, player left to right with England in red. Raheem Sterling takes it short to Andros Townsend who lays it back to Daniel Sturridge outside the box. He strikes the ball from the edge of the area and his shot is parried by Ciprian Tatarusanu, the Romanian goalkeeper. The ball drops to where Luke Shaw is stood with Paul Papp and Vlad Chiriches. It bobbles off of Papp and Shaw then finds himself facing away from goal with the ball in front of him. Thinking quickly he backheels the ball rather to save time turning for a shot and the ball goes straight in to double England's lead.

I love any goal with a bit of skill and flair and scoring with a backheel is rare for me in any FIFA game.

THE TOP THREE

Goal Number: 3

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Ryan Kent Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Reading Competition: Championship

Description: Another goal from a corner. Early in the second half with Wimbledon leading Reading 1-0 with a corner. Sheyi Ojo takes it short to Emerson Hyndman who sells Hal Robson-Kanu a dummy and just before Deniss Rakels can get a challenge on him he chips the ball to Ryan Kent running into the box. The winger on loan from Liverpool doesn't let the ball touch the ground but also keeps his momentum, flicking the ball with his first touch and volleying it with his second. David Marshall has no chance saving the shot.

The goal looks so smooth. I love the little flick to control the ball which you'd expect from a top La Liga player rather than a Premier League youngster on loan in the Championship.

Goal Number: 2

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Joey Pelupessy Team Played As: Wimbledon Opposition: Manchester City Competition: Premier League

Description: The match is goalless after 19 minutes of play between Manchester City and Wimbledon at The Etihad in this league game. Wimbledon are playing right to left in blue (I forced City into their away kit at home). Wimbledon have a free kick in City's right back area and Brecht Dejaegere, a free signing from KAA Gent, taps it short to Andrew Farrell. The American centre back sees Dutch midfielder Joey Pelupessy lurking deep and feeds him the ball outside the box. The former Heracles midfielder's first shot is blocked by Kevin De Bruyne but the ball deflects up into the air. Pelupessy runs to meet the ball on the volley and the flies across goal and past Joe Hart into the net to give Wimbledon the lead.

It was hard to choose between this and Kent's goal for the #2 (the winning goal stands alone) as I love them both but this one had added importance and level of opposition involved.

Goal Number: 1

Game Mode: Career

Scoring Player: Pablo Dybala Team Played As: Roma Opposition: Atalanta Competition: Serie A

Description: It's a Serie A match between Roma and Atalanta and Roma have a 1-0 lead playing right to left on 19 minutes. Atalanta have a corner which Thibaut Courtois comes to collect with some ease and the Belgian keeper throws the ball out to Cristiano Ronaldo on the edge of the box. What follows is a superb counter attack goal with the last three exchanges all being with one touch per player. Ronaldo knocks the ball forward to Robert Lewandowski on the half way line who holds up he ball a little for his fellow attackers to get forward. He plays the ball left to Neymar and this is where the one touch passing comes in starting with the Brazilian winger just inside Atalanta's half. Neymar plays the ball forward into Ronaldo's path as the Portugese legend has continued his run. As Ronaldo gets to the ball (still on the left wing) he spots Paulo Dybala being only loosely marked on the edge of the area and his solitary touch is to send a left foot cross all the way over to the middle of the park in the area of the D. Dybala follows the flight of the ball just into the area and his marker Alejandro Dario Gomez is nowhere near him. The Argentina striker's only touch is to volley the ball past South African keeper Itumuleng Khune and into the net. He even scored with what would be the 'wrong foot' as he was moving to his right and scored with his left foot so had to adjust his body position too.

Not only the best goal I scored on FIFA16 but certainly the best in recent memory on FIFA. The speed of the counter attack is surpassed only by the precision needed by those final three touches by three players, especially the cross from Ronaldo.

So that's my Top 25 Goals on FIFA16 blog. You may not have watched all of them unless you had a lot of time on your hands but I hope you did watch some that you enjoyed. I wrote this more for me to look back on in years to come as an archive of my FIFA16 experience. I've uploaded 235 goals from FIFA16 onto YouTube so it's nice to have a highlights reel to refer back to. I also have a few bloopers on there, mostly by the CPU so I may look at a Top 10 CPU FIFA16 Fails blog soon. Thank you for reading and watching and please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
